David “JimPark” Nicho Flores represents the new generation of South American carry players now competing with beastcoast. Our conversation occurred during Bali Major where he discussed stepping into Héctor “K1” Rodríguez’s position, addressing his controversial public match conduct, and his distinctive hero preferences. — What circumstances led to your recruitment by beastcoast?

— My connection with StingeR and Sacred proved crucial—we maintain friendships beyond competitive Dota and frequently socialize together. Additionally, I completed numerous ranked matches alongside them. They consistently joked during sessions, suggesting “Hey, Parker, you should join beastcoast.” These comments remained humorous until unexpectedly, StingeR contacted me via Instagram stating: “Prepare your belongings and relocate to our team facility.” My immediate reaction was disbelief, questioning “Are you being serious?”

The excitement overwhelmed me because previous South American team experiences proved challenging this year. Recognizing this represented my career breakthrough, I dedicated maximum effort following the invitation to achieve our current competitive results.

— Stepping into K1’s position, one of South America’s most celebrated players, did this generate performance anxiety?

— Initial apprehension surfaced because K1 ranks among the region’s and world’s elite competitors. His contributions to SA Dota development created understandable nervousness about assuming his responsibilities. After establishing team confidence and comfort, I became convinced I would successfully extend his competitive heritage within beastcoast.

— Describe your team adaptation experience

— Integration proceeded smoothly due to our established personal relationships. Regarding gameplay dynamics, I genuinely appreciate beastcoast’s strategic capabilities. Initial collaborative sessions revealed expected compatibility, though we identified certain deficiencies. Immediate corrective measures began implementation, resulting in accelerated adaptation. My addition introduced revitalizing energy to the squad. Current team atmosphere demonstrates exceptional friendliness and comfort.

— As a relatively inexperienced competitor, does Major tournament pressure affect you?

— Tournament excitement dominates my emotions, sharing these moments with global elite players and teammates. Honestly, articulating my current feelings proves challenging because I remain astonished by this opportunity.

— What distinctive contributions have you provided the team?

— I introduced my carry perspective and initiated in-game leadership responsibilities. This includes announcing power spikes, providing combat direction, and recommending hero selections.

— Your public match history includes notable toxicity accusations—did this hinder career advancement?

— Since joining beastcoast, behavioral improvement remains my focus. However, certain situations trigger inevitable responses, particularly when perceiving matches as concluded, accelerating conclusion attempts. Recognizing this represents an ongoing issue, continuous personal development efforts continue.

— Reports indicate public match conflicts with Arteezy—what originated this rivalry and your emotions following victory against him?

— These incidents stem from public match interactions where we mutually provoked each other. Encountering each other in ranked queues generated disputes regarding carry role assignment. Typically, one participant would initiate intentional performance degradation or match disruption, frequently myself. These behaviors no longer continue.

Current relations lack competitive animosity. I consider him friendly, included on my Steam contacts alongside nearly all Shopify competitors. Brief conversations occurred both digitally and during Major interactions. Since all maintain cordial relations, defeating them generated mixed emotions, though satisfaction prevailed due to TI qualification security.

— Your hero preferences include unconventional selections—do these reflect personal enjoyment or strategic differentiation to surprise opponents?

— These heroes provide exceptional comfort during gameplay, representing personal favorites. However, surprise elements contribute significantly. Typically, opposing teams struggle responding to Meepo carry, Shadow Fiend, or other preferred selections. Thus combining personal preference with strategic advantages.

— Before competing against GG, you maintained perfect Templar Assassin victory records. This represents a signature hero for Pakazs, another South American professional. Did you study his gameplay recordings for improvement?

— Negative, Templar Assassin ranks among my most cherished heroes. I even possess permanent body art representing her. I initiated TA carry gameplay years earlier. During that period, I knew no competitors utilizing her as primary carry, thus avoiding replay analysis. Cinematic and serial killer narratives inspire my approach, envisioning myself as an assassin during gameplay. This enables precise technical execution, explaining my dedication to this character.

— Generally speaking, carry roles demonstrate two distinct approaches—resource accumulation versus aggressive engagement. Which methodology do you favor?

— I enjoy employing all strategic methodologies, dependent upon hero characteristics and match circumstances. Should teammates require early assistance, I provide support. When selecting Medusa, I prefer farming for item completion before securing victory.

— How does your gameplay methodology differ from K1’s approach?

— Direct stylistic comparisons prove challenging. Both demonstrate exceptional quality, dependent upon team compatibility and metagame considerations. Current success stems from coordinated five-player combat, which I particularly enjoy. Should K1 join teams featuring four early-game space creators, then suddenly appearing with extensive itemization, similar effectiveness could occur. I associate my style more closely with Timado, because I admired his gameplay during his emerging star phase.

— Which other competitors inspired your development?

— Miracle-, because he demonstrates exceptional individual capability. I admire his technical executions, considering him Dota 2’s equivalent to Ronaldinho.

— What current abilities require development to reach Miracle-‘s historical level?

— Technical mastery and magical execution. I believe Miracle- remained undefeatable during his peak performance period, though I’ll strive approaching his competitive standard.

— Today commemorates your birthday—what represents your primary aspiration?

— This morning I desired TI qualification. Therefore, my aspiration has already materialized.
